Rollin' On 03:43
Rollin' On I had been alive since 1835 Then our daddy moved us west He had no job to work We were put out on the street He told us leaving was for the best We kept rollin' We kept rollin' on Then my daddy died when I was 25 We didn't know what to do My momma needed me but I could not see A way to take my family through We kept rollin' We kept rollin' on We kept rollin' We kept rollin' on I told them everything was fine But we were running out of time To land on solid ground We finally found a home and we made it our home I raised my new family there as well Got some land that I call mine A wife and child so fine And I got this story to tell We kept rollin' We kept rollin' on We kept rollin' We kept rollin' on We kept rollin'

Sending Best Wishes. I’m sending best wishes to you. I hope you are fine. There’s a lot that we lived through. You’re on my mind. Life has been hard. It was not in the plan. Send me a post card if you can. I remember old days. I hope you do too. We did so many wild things. Yet we made it through. We got older, But none too wise. Much less bolder, A compromise. Sending best wishes to you. I hope you are strong. This message was overdue. Hope you hear my song.

Side Of The Road. I live my life on the side of the road. Hold up a sign as I walk past your car. It says, “I’m Hungry” and “God Bless”. I live my life on the side of the road. They look away when I ask for a dollar, And so I stand out here, a little longer. I live my life on the side of the road. Walk in the store with the money I saved. Buy me some food, my first food in days. I live my life on the side of the road. The folks they see me and they put on armor Because they worship at a different alter. They see me standing. I’m the one they blame. They leave me standing Out in the rain. I live my life on the side of the road. The cars they stop and I look in their eyes. They don’t look back, I wonder why. I live my life on the side of the road. The folks they see me and they run for cover. They don’t believe that I’m their brother. They see me standing. I’m the one they blame. They leave me standing Out in the rain. I live my life on the side of the road.

Late Night 02:09
Late Night. It’s late at night and it’s time to retire. TV’s on so long it’s about to catch fire. I quench the tube and I head for bed. It’s time for me to get out of my head. I lie in bed. I can’t get to sleep. Diggin’ holes in my life, I’m in too deep. Try to climb out but the ladder’s too low. I can’t hold on but I won’t let go. It’s late at night and I’m so tired. Images are blazing out of control. I put out the flames that I’ve acquired, My peace of mind in the afterglow. I can’t sleep. In too deep. Need to find A piece of my mind. I’m still awake so I get up and see What I had missed on my TV. Surfing the channels but the stations are dead. Nothing but ads so I went back to bed.

The End Of The Frontier. We have run out of room And it’s time to move on. How do we exit the womb? How do we find a new dawn? It’s the end of the frontier And our future is unclear. There is nowhere else to go. We’ve reached the end of the rainbow. We’ve explored in all directions. We’ve exploited all we can. It’s much too late for correction. We have to find a new plan. It is time to move on. All other options are gone. This is what we all feared. We’ve reached the end of the frontier.

Just A Cliché. You’re a big fish in a small pond and you’re busy as a bee. When the cat has got your tongue, it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. You give it the old college try, but your back is against the wall. You can run, but you can’t hide. You’re behind the 8 ball. In this day and age. When there’s nothing to say Except to “have a nice day”. You know it’s just a cliché. They say birds of a feather can build a better mouse trap. They try to keep it together, but curiosity killed the cat.

Leap Of Fate 03:06
Leap of Fate. These times are rough or so they say. Most folks are living day to day. Always blame it on the other side. They think they’re here to misguide. The devout they pray for a better way. The sinners pray for another day. The end is near no time to wait. Time to unite in our leap of fate. Inside it seems we’re 180 degrees. Outside there’s so much more that we agree. Look at the view from miles above. A common cause that we’re thinking of. Our future needs our help so we can survive. We cannot wait for the savior to arrive. We should be working on a compromise. That’s when our fate will be ours to decide. We have been through rough times before. Famine, drought, depression, war. Always emerged with a sense of hope. Moving forward so we could cope.

History From The Mist. Hieroglyphs etched ancient walls. Told of civilizations rise and fall. They find relics they unearth. Ruins that tell of death and birth. In times before the written word, All we knew is what we heard. Lore from fathers passed to sons. Throughout generations, history was born. Through learning and dedication We gathered information. Our ancestors must exist. We revealed history from the mist. Today we’re awash in the info age. The torrent of data cannot be saved. History’s future is not secure. We can’t be judged if we don’t endure. The knowledge we send to the cloud. As much as we’re allowed. Too much noise and static persists. History vanishes from the mist.

Oven Wind 03:53
Oven Wind. Morning breaks and the light is nigh. The sun it burns on its rise to the sky. There’s nothin’ to drink, I must be cursed. Water is the precious stone from thirst. I hope to see you soon my friend As I ride ‘cross this oven wind. As I break camp and get on the road. My vengeance burns for the debt you owe. I’m tired but focused, my mind is clear. No time to retreat, no time for fear. It is getting closer to the end. You did what you did, I cannot condemn. I spied you on the edge of town As you passed by the burial mound. I tried to follow but the oven wind blows. I’ll be back on your trail tomorrow.

Chasing The Sun. I am inside my brain, And I am trying to attain Some peace and some remorse, But I have no recourse. I’ve made up my mind To go out and find The rhyme, the reason. I’m chasing the sun. I’m trying to find which way is best. So I’m on a plane that’s heading west. The sun it sets as I’m chase the horizon. Flying for a purpose jetting for a reason. Landing safely on the coast, I’ve arrived at my new host. The dark has taken over the day, But the sun had shown the way. I’m finally outside of my mind. Opportunities waiting to find Some peace and some remorse. I have set a new course.

Slide On By 03:16
Slide On By. I’ve been on this train For so long it’s insane. I’m seeking to find a new home. The rails are the way I discover domains, And that’s why I’ve started to roam. I look for the promise of better rewards. I’m looking to see a new sky. I’m spending as much as I can afford. I expect it to all slide on by. Slide by on the rails. Slide by on my way. Slide by without fail. Slide on by today. We stopped for a rest, It was for the best. We couldn’t go on anymore. A good night’s sleep Will be better for me. There’s more that I need to explore. The morning arrived And I started to rise To get back on board of the train. As we got up to speed I started to need Some perspective on my campaign. All had seemed fine At the end of the line We were waiting to see our reward. A storm did arise, Was a total surprise. They kept us remanded on board. The rain finally ceased and we were released. We witnessed the promised land. The sun it did shine As we viewed the shrine. The rest went according to plan.
